Join us on June 2 (602 Day) from 10 am to 2 pm for a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet and talk with veterans from World War II, Vietnam, the Cold War, and the War on Terror.

Meet the veterans behind the stories and have real conversations. Ask questions about their service, their experiences, and their lives beyond the uniform. Plus, for one day only, pick up past editions of Since You Asked® for just $6.02 each!

Books are for sale throughout the day, and a dozen veterans will be here between 10 am and 2pm to answer questions and share their experiences. Here's one you won’t want to miss:

Gene Metcalfe (World War II Veteran)

Gene Metcalfe’s World War II experience took him from the front lines of Operation Market Garden to an interrogation by Heinrich Himmler inside Charlemagne’s castle. After being liberated from a German POW camp by Patton’s forces, Gene set out to see Paris before returning to his platoon, hotwiring a car and bribing his way across bridges with souvenirs he had collected along the way. Years later, he returned to that same castle not as a prisoner, but as a guest, sitting down for a five star meal in the place where he was once held captive.
